Stepping Back
Published November 30, 2025
What a month, huh.
So, I know that we had just bounced back not that long ago after I announced that I was stepping away from the project. But, unfortunately, no one can predict what the future holds. In all honesty, I was feeling a little burnt out during the latter half of October and the beginning of November for unrelated reasons, and had scaled back my efforts in the project a bit to avoid making it worse.
But then multiple bad things happened in the fandom. This isn't really the place I want to discuss these in detail, but they have not had a good effect on us mentally. It really doesn't inspire much passion when these kinds of things are exposed on such a rapid occurence, and from people we thought we trusted.
To outline what we did regarding one individual, we put out a silent patch for the release version of classic edition (v3.0.13) a couple weeks ago on all platforms removing references to any sort of content creator, and the game will no longer see these kinds of references anymore.
I think a lot of things in our lives has us drained, and what has been happening recently hasn't exactly been helping. I think we're going to go ahead and just step away from the project for the time being. Not just me, but a lot of other people on the team. It sucks that we're going back into hiatus, but you can't force passion to blossom for a passion project.
I'm sorry.
